I get frustrated when some people mistakenly call mushafs printed in the Arab world “Uthmani” and mushafs printed in South Asia as “Persian”, as though the South Asian masahif are somehow deficient or unauthentic. Rather, s this article explains, both mushafs conform to the Rasm Uthmani, and differ in other allowed ways. I have seen that some non Arabs are ashamed of the mushafs produced in their local lands by the scholars of their regions.
