I used to work in a public school with a heavy conservative leaning. The principal of the school wore a large cross dangling across his neck. On one morning Advisory TV show, he mocked a boy, a straight A student, for wanting to remain single and not wanting to take a girl friend. The boy said, “MC is single and doesn’t want anyone.” He was so brave and stood up to the principal’s bullying. But the principal continued to mock the child and elbowed him twice.

One of my students in the school said to me the principal’s behavior was “disgusting.” Another one of my students said the principal was “scary.”

I showed the video of the principal’s bullying to the Imam of our Islamic center and to some Muslim students in the Islamic center. They all agreed I should report this principal’s actions to HR.

I mustered up courage and informed HR who promised to keep my name confidential. Guess what? The principal called me to a meeting about a month later and told me HR had disclosed my name to him! I faced stiff retaliation from the school after this.

This is how conservatives are, all piety piety piety from the outside with their huge crosses, but their behavior speaks otherwise!
